Esperance Senior High School is lighting the way to a brighter future with the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, backed by the WA Department of Education. This evidence-based initiative unites the whole school community to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.

At the heart of our approach is SPARK—Safe, Persistent, Achiever, Respectful, Kind—expectations that were thoughtfully developed in collaboration with students, staff, and parents. These values are the cornerstone of our school culture, guiding student behaviour and interactions daily. You can see further details of our SPARK matrix here.

Students receive explicit lessons on these expectations throughout the term, and their efforts are recognised, acknowledged, and celebrated. Twice a term, the school hosts SPARK celebrations, honouring students who embody these principles. For example, students may be invited to a special lunch activity or BBQ lunch provided by the school.

With SPARK lighting the way, Esperance Senior High School is proud to be cultivating not just academic excellence but also the social and emotional well-being of every student.
