Welcome to the Start of the New School Year at Esperance Senior High School!
We are thrilled to begin another exciting year at Esperance Senior High School, and it has been especially rewarding to welcome both our new Year 7 students and our returning students back to school. The energy and enthusiasm across the school has been truly fantastic, with our new Year 7s settling in quickly and our returning students showing great leadership and support for their younger peers. It’s been a wonderful start to the year, and we are excited to see all our students grow and thrive throughout the coming months.

For Term 1, I will be stepping in as Acting Principal, and I’m looking forward to supporting our school community during this time. After Term 1, we will welcome a new principal to lead our school, and in the meantime, Jamie Pearce, our Lower School Deputy Principal. Jamie brings a wealth of experience and a strong leadership presence, and I am confident that he will guide the school with great care and dedication throughout the term.
This year, we are also excited to share some fantastic developments around the school. Our new $1.5 million STEM facility is now open and fully operational! This state-of-the-art space is designed to support and enhance the learning of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and we are excited to see our students engage with the new equipment and resources available to them. Additionally, we’ve completed a major refurbishment of our Administration Building, which has been transformed into a modern, functional space for staff, students, and visitors. The resurfacing of our sports courts is also finished, providing improved facilities for our students during physical education and sporting activities. These upgrades are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the learning environment and ensure our students have the best possible facilities.
Looking ahead, there are some fantastic events to look forward to! Our Faction Swimming Carnival will be taking place in Week 5, and we’re excited for a day of competition and school spirit. The Faction Athletics Carnival will follow at the end of the term, providing another great opportunity for students to showcase their athletic abilities and cheer on their peers. For our farm students, the Wagin Woolorama is a highlight, offering a chance to showcase their skills and connect with the wider agricultural community. We will also host a Parent Night later in the term, where families can come together to meet teachers and learn more about their child’s school year. These events are wonderful opportunities for students, families, and staff to celebrate and support one another.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, and we can’t wait to see all our students, both new and returning, continue to grow and succeed. With so much excitement and positive energy already in the air, we are looking forward to a year filled with learning, achievement, and community spirit at Esperance Senior High School!
